The legend of the 'tooth worm'

La leggenda del 'verme dei denti'
Curiosity! A Babylonian tablet from 1800 BC tells the legend of the 'tooth worm', responsible for tooth decay: the hungry worm begs Poseidon to let it dwell in the man's mouth, where food and drink abound; the god agrees and the worm settles there, starting to dig tunnels and caves – cavities – and causing great pain. In 400 BC the Greek Hippocrates already urged not to believe the legend and brush your teeth every day, yet that ancient story survived until the Middle Ages. It was the Arabs, in 600 AD, who definitively introduced the practice of daily oral hygiene. In this regard, we advise you to read this interesting article on teeth hygiene -> Go to the article
