Car seats

Ready to travel: all types of car seats

All car seats that Iperbimbo offers are approved according to the law.
Iperbimbo promotes car safety for all children and offers car seats for all ages and for all cars.

The transport of children by car is regulated by art. 172 of the Highway Code which requires passengers under the age of 12 and less than 1.50 m tall to be hooked up to an approved restraint system.

Car seats divided by groups

The groups can be reduced to 3, divided as follows :

Group 0/0+ : designed for babies weighing from 0 to 10 kg (from 0 to 9 months) and the "Ovetto" with greater protection for the head and legs (from 0 to 13 kg and from 0 to about 15 months). The models in this group require the child to be positioned rearward facing, in the front seat (with the airbag in off mode) or in the rear seat – possibly in the middle if there are belts. The seat is anchored to the car with the seat belts and the child is secured to the seat with the belts supplied on the seat itself.

Group 1 : These are car seats that can be forward-facing. These are approved for children from 9 to 18 kg, i.e. from 9-10 months up to approximately 4-5 years.
Group 2/3 : more than car seats, they are seats equipped with back and arm support. They are designed for children from 15 to 25 kg (i.e. more or less from 4 to 6 years). These seats are used to lift the child in order to be able to use, with the addition of a coupling device, the car's seat belts in a completely classic and natural way. For children from 6 to 12 years, from 20-22 to 36 kg, it can be reduced to a sort of booster seat to be able to use the car's seat belts.
These obligations naturally cease from the moment the child turns 12 or when he reaches one and a half meters in height, as he can use normal seat belts.

Remaining on the subject of safety, another important clarification must be made on the Isofix system.

What is Isofix and how does it work for car seats

When we talk about the Isofix safety system, we are not referring to the legislation regarding the compulsory use of car seats for children, but we are talking about an advantage to be used for safety.

The Isofix system is an assembly method (standardized internationally) which allows you to install the child seat in the car in a simple, fast and above all safe way without using normal seat belts. This system uses two connectors present on the base of the seat, which connect directly to the car body. In addition there is a third connector which prevents rotational movement which can be caused by cornering driving.

We specify that all cars produced from 2006 onwards have Isofix attachments by default (but also in some produced before that year), thus connecting the car seat directly to the car chassis for an incomparable grip, if compared with car seats that attach to the seat belts (often installed incorrectly and therefore dangerous for children during the journey).

We also remind you that the choice of car seat must be made with great attention to the product, always giving priority to the safety of the little ones, NOT to the lowest price.
