Will it be male or female?

We've heard all sorts of things but in the end the urban legends about the shape of the bellies and the birthmarks of mothers as indicators of the sex of the unborn child have often proved to be not very concrete, but we are still allowed to inform ourselves about the probabilities.

It is common knowledge that there are more men than women in the world, but that doesn't mean that parents are more likely to have a baby girl as a newcomer! Cristina Fossati explains why:

Indeed, as the Istat tables show, more males are born than females. “Let's say that the sex ratio reverses around the age of 40: the number of forty-year-old females begins to exceed males of the same age. The reason is obvious, not that 40 years earlier more females were born, simply male mortality, in the juvenile age groups, is higher among males than among females. Before the age of 40 and then later, the (probable) greater resistance to disease and accidents favors females and causes their number to continue to increase when compared with the number of males in the same age group. “ In addition, it must be said that countries with birth control such as China put any precise forecast on births in a bit of a crisis.
