In 1965, Owen Finlay Maclaren MBE invented the first lightweight stroller. Taking note of the
difficulty transporting the pram of your daughter's baby, who was getting ready to go
abroad, Mr. Maclaren decided to intervene. Based on his knowledge as an aeronautical engineer
developed the first stroller with an umbrella closure. Source of inspiration were the mechanisms of
articulation of the landing gear of Spitfire fighters, thus creating a light stroller and
compact.
