Useful information on parental leave and babysitter bonuses

To try to extricate ourselves from the various decrees approved in recent days, we have tried to make it easier to read the parts that interest us as parents, translating everything into less technical language. Obviously things are constantly evolving, so we invite you to find out more with your consultants or at the Patronati. We are therefore talking about special leave for parents and babysitter bonuses. First of all, these concessions are aimed at:
  • private sector employees
  • workers enrolled in the separate INPS management
  • self-employed
who have the right (starting from 5 March) to take advantage of leave recognized with an indemnity equal to 50% of the salary that will be paid by the State. The leave can be used for a maximum period of fifteen days (continuous or not). The leave is recognized alternately to both parents, for a total of 15 days, and is subject to the fact that there is no other parent benefiting from income support instruments. The age limit of 12 years of the child does not apply if the children have a proven disability. Alternatively, parents can choose the bonus for the purchase of babysitting services up to a total maximum limit of €600.00 The bonus is paid through a family record book.
