Being a "sugarfree" mom

alimenti sugar free
I became a sugarfree mom first for duty and then for pleasure. It all started with my second son Gioele and atopic dermatitis diagnosed at birth. One day I finally came across Metabolomic Medicine , specialized in "treating the cause" of chronic and autoimmune diseases. Thanks to the results of the analyses, Gioele received his personalized diet and supplementation: food and vitamins aimed at restoring the metabolism to its optimal state, i.e. able to repair itself. And this is where we come to the most important change: the number 1 health enemy that I had to eliminate from our pantry was sugar. But I didn't just eliminate the classic table sugar. In my first book, The Metabolomic Kitchen, I describe in detail what is meant by sugar: every food has the power to raise the level of sugar in the blood (called glucose) and some foods do it very well. This means that our blood sugar can reach extremely high peaks due to certain foods, peaks that lead to a great deal of trouble: intestinal flora rich in pathogenic bacteria, weight gain, persistent inflammation, nervousness and hyperactivity, decreased attention span, diabetes. That's why, as a mother responsible for my child's health, I transformed my pantry, studying and following the course of the European Institute of Nutritional Medicine of Dr. Dimitris Tsoukalas, the doctor who brought Metabolomics to Italy. Obviously, all of us in the family benefited from this new lifestyle, but the best thing was seeing Gioele finally healed: no rashes or wounds, and a splendid smile on his face. After experimenting with low glycemic index sugarfree recipes , I decided to share this knowledge with other mothers and anyone who wanted to ensure optimal long-term health through the blog Mammasugarfree : guide to Metabolomics. Eliminating sugar doesn't mean not eating sweets anymore or making extreme sacrifices . It means learning how to do the shopping, to read the labels, to safely buy beneficial sweeteners and not chemical products; it means changing the point of view slightly, for the sake of our children. In doing so, it will be the norm not to buy junk food anymore, it will be the norm to prepare sugar-free cakes and biscuits, so much so that, when someone gives us a frown because we don't order a sugary drink, we will be able to answer them: «Hey, sugar is no longer in fashion! » . Our children's future will be one of health and happiness, and it will be because of the choices we make in the present. If you want to learn more, go to the sugrafree mom website !
