Baby First Aid Kit

Baby Kit del pronto soccorso
The list isn't as long as one might think, quite the contrary. They range from the antipyretic to lower fever to rehydrating solutions and lactic ferments in case of vomiting or diarrhea, from physiological solution to arnica, passing through the main first aid tools and daily care. Let's see together what should not be missing in the medicine cabinet. ANTIPYRETIC Paracetamol is usually recommended, the drug most used in children to lower fever , available in drops, suppositories, syrup or tablets (according to age). It should be administered if the temperature exceeds at least 38.5°C, according to the dosage indicated on the package leaflet. Alternatively you can opt for ibuprofen , effective against fever and pain. PHYSIOLOGICAL SOLUTION Available in vials, it is used to humidify the nasal mucous membranes and is applied by spraying it directly or by aerosol. It is usually sufficient in case of simple stuffy nose and cold. A nasal aspirator may also be helpful, to remove mucus and secretions. REHYDRATING SOLUTIONS AND LACTIC FERMENTS In sachets or vials, they are used following dysentery or vomiting to replenish lost fluids and rebalance the intestinal flora . They contain a mix of sugars and mineral salts (especially potassium and magnesium). Also useful after antibiotic therapy. GLYCERINE MICRO-ENEMA They are recommended in case of constipation, practical and ready for use. NATURAL AND HOMEOPATHIC PRODUCTS For coughs, a natural syrup to buy at the pharmacy or prepare at home (squeezed half a lemon, a teaspoon of sunflower seed oil and three tablespoons of honey; to be kept in the fridge), a linden or mallow herbal tea or violet (against dry cough) or honey itself, just don't exceed; alternatively, keep horehound herb at home with which to prepare an infusion. For colic , try homeopathic drops. ARNICA OINTMENT It is the best local (and natural) analgesic solution against traumas and bruises , very frequent in children, because it relieves pain and reduces inflammation (the beneficial action of ice is always excellent too). Arnica is also ideal for reducing bruising from injections and vaccines . DISINFECTANT In non-alcoholic liquid format, it should never be missing in the home handbook to disinfect wounds and grazes. Even hydrogen peroxide is fine. SPRAY, GEL OR CREAM AGAINST BURNS They are to be applied locally to reduce redness, pain and facilitate skin healing. For superficial burns. (If you have aloe at home you can try using the pulp of a leaf - ndb) MOSQUITO REPELLENT Ointment Based on citronella and other natural substances, it keeps mosquitoes at bay. Instead, beware of curative cortisone ointments, to be used only occasionally and on limited areas: after a sting, a soothing cream with a natural composition is better.
